PD: Woman waiting at bus stop attacked, robbed

A woman was attacked and robbed Tuesday night while waiting at a bus stop, Madison police said.

The woman was waiting at a bus stop around 6:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of Sheboygan Avenue when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her around her neck, according to a release.

The robber took the woman’s phone and backpack and left the area heading east on Sheboygan Avenue, police said.

No one was injured and no weapon was seen.

The man is described as black, about 40 years old, wearing a dark-color coat and winter hat.
