PD: Man loses control of motorcycle while ‘popping wheelies,’ crashes

A DeForest man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of his motorcycle while popping wheelies in a parking lot early Sunday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old man was in a parking lot in the 2300 block of East Springs Drive around 12:20 a.m. with other drivers who were showing off their cars and bikes, according to a release.

An area along East Springs Drive is a popular hangout and several people witnessed the crash, police said.

The injured man told police he thought he hit a bump or pothole, according to the release. He was taken to a hospital with a broken arm and other injuries.

The man was cited for reckless driving.
