PD: Man arrested in connection with gunfire that had bystanders taking cover
MADISON, Wis. — A 20-year-old man who has connections to both Madison and Milwaukee was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with an incident last month that had bystanders taking cover from gunshots, according to a release.
Witnesses on Oct. 8 reported seeing a woman get out of a Chevy Cruze on John Nolen Drive and walk away shortly before the car’s driver stopped in traffic, according to a release. The driver got out and fired several rounds into the air before driving off.
Several people who were out walking along Lake Monona took cover when they heard or saw the gunfire, police said.
Marquis R. Lampley was arrested Thursday afternoon on Regent Street in connection with the incident. He faces a tentative charge of second-degree reckless endangering safety.
