Pauline P. Harper
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. — Pauline P. Harper, age 97, of Richland Center, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Harvest Guest House in Richland Center. She was born on in Excelsior, on Dec. 11, 1919, the daughter of Steven and Mary (Frawley) Welsh. Pauline married Hillman Harper on Feb. 26, 1938, in Richland Center and together rented farms until buying their own farm near Basswood in Richland County. She lived on that farm for 64 years, before moving to Harvest Guest House in 2009. Pauline will be remembered as a hard worker, having raised tobacco and Holsteins for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Robert (Judy) Harper of Prairie du Sac, Larry (Joyce) Harper Oelwein, Iowa and John Harper of Muscoda; two granddaughters, Cindy (Mike) Smits and April (Rob) Kennedy; two grandsons, Robert (Michelle) Harper and Mike (Kristy) Harper; sister-in-law, Virginia Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Hillman Harper; son, Gillman Harper; and a great-granddaughter Kimberly.
A Memorial Service will be held at Basswood Church in Richland County, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Burial will be in Basswood Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church.
