Paul “Pauly” Edward Hughes
Paul “Pauly” Edward Hughes, age 34 of Hollandale died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home.
He was born on June 15, 1982 to Paul Francis and Karen Lee (Edgren) Hughes in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
Pauly was a lifelong resident of Hollandale where he went to school in the Pecatonica Area Schools, graduating in 2000. He was baptized and confirmed at the Hollandale Lutheran Church. He worked in construction, farming and landscaping. He was affectionately known as Pauly or “Poop” by his friends and family.
Pauly loved spending time with friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, the family dogs, shooting pool, and loved being the life of the party. He left an impression on everybody. He loved his niece and nephew, Zoey and Levi.
Pauly is survived by his mother, Karen Hughes of Platteville; his father Paul Hughes of Hollandale; one brother Dale (Anne Elert) Hughes of Hollandale; a paternal grandmother, Nancy Hughes of Monroe; a niece Zoey Hughes; and a nephew Levi Hughes. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Dixie Edgren, and paternal grandfather, Edward Hughes; a cousin Jacob Edgren, and close friends Ben, Jill, Dan, Cody, and Brogz.
A celebration of Pauly’s life will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 with a visitation at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Hollandale from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. A service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church. Rev. Michelle Elfers will officiate.
