Paul M. McCarten
MADISON/DARLINGTON-Paul M. McCarten, age 94, passed away on November 10, 2014.
He was born on May 17, 1920, in Darlington, the son of Francis and Sarah (Deery) McCarten.
He married Alice Anderson on Novemer 25, 1950. Paul served in the Navy during WWII and went on to work at Oscar Mayer for 38 years. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Most importantly, he loved his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Marie Nelson; grandchildren, Danny, Peggy and Sara; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Jessica, Andrew, and Lucas; and his last surviving sibling, Anne Pfeiffer of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; and seven siblings.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Heights in Evansville for their care of Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., with Msgr. Charles Schluter presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Friday.
