Patricia A. Goldberg (McKenney)
MADISON/MONONA – Patricia A. Goldberg (McKenney), age 75, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, at Oak Park Place nursing home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Menominee, Mich., to Henry & Lillian McKenney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; and a granddaughter, Jeannette; as well as her parents; and her brothers, Ron, Bill, Alvin and Skip McKenney; plus sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn. She is survived by sisters, Marlene Kopacz, Judy Schei and Peggy Harsvick; plus a brother, Harold McKenney She is survived by her children; Steve of Madison, Barry (Erika) of Philadelphia, Pa., Don (Pat) of Oregon, Debbie Callies (Otto) of Stoughton, Judy Vanotti (Matias) of Florence, S.C., and Linda of Madison. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren, whom she loved and nurtured as if she had given birth to each one.
Pat Goldberg was a model of selflessness, a devoted mother and wife, and an active volunteer in the Madison area. She played the banjo and sang frequently at local nursing homes, taking great pleasure in bringing joy to the lives of others. She was an avid Packers fan and loved to yell at the television during games. This remarkable woman served as a moral compass for the whole family and was cheerful even in her last days.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Pat’s life at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Friday, July 27, 2012, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and a brief memorial service at 11 a.m.
