Parents’ Night Out at Harvest
Take a night away from the kids
As much as I appreciate how family-friendly most Madison restaurants are, there’s something delicious about dining somewhere that doesn’t cater exclusively to the high-chair set. Harvest is that place for us.
Instead of force-feeding scoops of mac ‘n’ cheese and blotting spilled drinks, we order wine and take our time with the farm-to-table menu. We talk–to each other, in full, uninterrupted sentences. We savor our food, noting the freshness and flavor combinations. We take in the flickering candles and sophisticated Capitol Square views. And, inevitably, we notice a baby at a nearby table and say, “Gosh, the kids would really like it here.”
