Packers trade for wide receiver Randall Cobb
GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers have traded for Texans wide receiver Randall Cobb, bringing the longtime wideout home to play with Aaron Rodgers.
The trade was officially announced Wednesday night by Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Cobb was picked by the Packers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, but spent the past two seasons in Texas with the Cowboys and Texans.
He has 563 career receptions and 47 touchdowns. Cobb is one of 10 players in NFL history with at least 45 receiving TDs, one kickoff return TD and one punt return TD and is the only player in the NFL since 2011 to record 6,000-plus receiving yards and 1,500-plus kickoff return yards.
Cobb is No. 7 in franchise history in reception and No. 12 in receiving yards and touchdowns.
Green Bay is trading an undisclosed draft pick to Houston in return for the wide receiver.
