Packers release open practice, event schedule for training camp

Aaron Rodgers Packers Training Camp Pass

MADISON, Wis. — Packers training camp is right around the corner, and now fans can plan when they’ll make the trip to Green Bay.

The team released the schedule for this year’s camp on Wednesday. This year, the Packers will hold multiple open practice days at Ray Nitschke Field throughout July and August. The theme of this year’s camp is “Back to Football.”

The first three open practice dates are July 27, 28 and 30. The second set of open practices will be August 1, 2 and 4. Packers Family Night will make its return on August 5 at Lambeau Field and will feature a full practice and giveaways. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale June 29 on

Green Bay will hold open practices on August 7, 8 and 10 ahead of the team’s opening preseason matchup in San Francisco on August 12.

There will be two more open sessions on August 16 and 17, when the Packers hold joint practices with the Saints before the two squads’ preseason game at Lambeau on August 19. Green Bay wraps up the preseason in Missouri when they play the Chiefs on August 25.

Times for each practice session will be announced at a later date. If inclement weather forces practice indoors, the session will be closed to the public because of space limitations.

Due to construction, this year’s training camp will not be using St. Norbert College. The Packers had used the school since 1958 for player housing and dining.

While the team may be breaking from one tradition this year, they’re bringing back another one. Kids are invited to bring their bicycles to each open practice day and offer players a ride from Lambeau Field to Ray Nitschke Field.

The Packers also announced dates for some big preseason events.

  • Packers 1K Kids Run — July 15 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Packers 5K Run/Walk — July 16 at 8 a.m. at Lambeau Field
  • Annual Shareholders Meeting — July 25 at 11 a.m.
