Packers G Lang headed for shoulder surgery
Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang was to have surgery Wednesday on his right shoulder, according to a report.
Lang dealt with shoulder issues during the season and also was considering surgery on his left shoulder.
The 28-year-old Lang told ESPN.com that he doesn’t want to have to play through injuries in 2016 as he did this past season. The durable Lang has missed only two games, including one in 2015, since moving into the starting lineup for the 2011 season.
Despite dealing with the injury, Lang gave up only two sacks this past season.
“I don’t want to look too far ahead, but I don’t want to be playing next year with more pain than what I have right now,” Lang said. “Obviously, that’s a business decision.”
Lang, who was on the team’s injury report for seven straight weeks with the shoulder injury, will be entering the final season of his four-year, $22 million contract in 2016.
