Packers activate Tretter, release Sherrod

The Green Bay Packers activated center JC Tretter from the injured reserve list and released offensive tackle Derek Sherrod Monday.

Tretter missed most of his rookie season with an ankle injury during organized team activities and sat out the first nine weeks of  this season due to a knee injury suffered in the preseason.

Sherrod was a first round pick of the Packers in the 2011 NFL draft and played in 20 regular season games in his career.

He missed all of the 2012 season and the first half of the 2013 season because of a broken leg .

The Packers also signed running back Rajion Neal and linebacker Joe Thomas to the practice squad and released tight end Ike Ariguzo and defensive end Joe Kruger from the practice squad.
