Overture Center to welcome biggest crowds of season for International Fest
Event showcases 50+ cultures Feb. 29
The Overture Center is getting ready for its biggest crowds ever at the end of the month. On Saturday Feb. 29th, they’re bringing the world to Madison for the International Festival.
Performers from more than 50 countries and cultures will celebrate their heritage at the festival. Although the performers have different backgrounds, they all call Dane County home.
The festival centers around food, crafts, and performances.
At the International Cafe, festival-goers can sample foods from around the world in the lobby of Overture Hall.
At the International Market, people can buy stunning arts and crafts and learn about the dozens of Madison-area small businesses with global connections in the lobby of the Rotunda.
There are more than 30 free performances scheduled. New for 2020: a Japanese drummer, traditional music from the Philippines, and a show by the R&B band Kinfolk, which coincides with the end of Black History Month. They are scheduled to perform in the Overture lobby from 3:45 a.m. until 4:30 a.m.
