Overture Center announces MadCity Sessions lineup
Series kicks off Nov. 9
Overture Center’s MadCity Sessions will kick off its season of free concerts from the Capitol Theater stage Nov. 9.
The three concerts are free and open to the public. Drinks will be available for purchase. Each concert features two local or regional bands.
“MadCity Sessions provides a unique way for Madison music fans to discover new music and hear their favorite local/regional musicians in a new way–outside the bar or festival scene and in an intimate theater,” Tim Sauers, Overture’s vice president of programming and community engagement, said.
Last season, the series moved from the Overture Hall lobby to the Capitol Theater to give bands the opportunity to perform on the historic stage, according to a release
The first concert on Nov. 9 features Better Yeti and VO5. The other concerts will be Jan. 18, with Kinfolk and The Big Payback, and Apr. 12, with Kyle Megna & the Monsoons and The Lucas Cates Band.
