One dead, one injured in Dodge County crash identified
TOWN OF BEAVER DAM, Wis. — One person is dead and another suffered significant injuries after a crash in Dodge County early Sunday morning, Sheriff Dale Schmidt said.
Police were called to County Highway D near Zimmerman Drive in the town of Beaver Dam around 3:07 a.m. on a report of a vehicle crash, Schmidt said in a news release.
A preliminary investigation found that Timothy Price, 27, Beaver Dam, was driving west on County Highway D in a 2001 Hyundai sedan when he crossed the center line and hit the ditch, causing the car to spin, the release said. The car hit a utility pole before coming to a rest near Zimmerman Drive.
Police said the Price and his passenger, Deon Sallis, 27 of rural Beaver Dam, got out of the car and ran to the Price’s home about a half mile from the crash site. Once there, Price became unresponsive and died. Sallis was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital with significant injuries, Schmidt said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
