A vehicle crash caused backups on the Beltline at Old Sauk Road

MADISON, Wis. — The driver of a vehicle that rolled over in a serious two-vehicle crash on the Beltline is dead, according to the Madison Police Department.

The crash happened Saturday at 6:40 a.m. on the westbound Beltline near the Old Sauk Road exit. The driver of the car that rolled over was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Two other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Police said they are not releasing the name of the victim yet.

The crash caused major delays on the highway. All westbound lanes of the Beltline between Mineral Point Road and Old Sauk Road — except for the road’s shoulder — were shutdown for roughly three hours.
