DARLINGTON, Wis. — A Mineral Point man is dead after a wrong-way crash with a minibus in Darlington Saturday night.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office says crews responded to a two-car crash in the 1200 block of State Highway 81 just before 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Police say Timothy A. Russett, 27, of Mineral Point, was driving west when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a minibus driven by Matthew J. Berry, 31, of Beloit.
Russett was transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County and was later declared dead due to his injuries. Barry sustained only minor injuries and did not need an ambulance.
Part of State Highway 81 was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
Police say this is the third motor vehicle fatality on Lafayette County roads this year.
