One biker in critical condition after two related crashes, Dodge County deputies say

Dodge County officials are investigating a crash that left two motorcyclists injured and one of those bikers in critical condition Sunday.

According to a press release, the crash happened just after 9 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 151 near State Highway 33.

Deputies said a group of at least four motorcycles were traveling southbound when two of the bikes collided near the Beaver Dam city limits.

The release said one of the bikers was ejected in the left traffic lane and the other biker was able to pull off onto the right shoulder. The second driver then walked into traffic and was struck by a southbound minivan that had been attempting to avoid the initial crash.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital, one by helicopter due to life-threatening injuries, the release said.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver and passengers of the minivan were not injured.

Officials have not located other bikers in the group.

The crashes are being investigated as two separate but related crashes by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the release, the names of the drivers, bikers and passengers involved will not be released for at least 24 hours.

Officials ask anyone with information on the events to contact the Crash Investigation Team at 920-386-3726.
