Oma Vida Wilcox
Oma Wilcox, age 98, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Oma was born March 3, 1919 in Lewiston Township, Columbia County, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lotty (Blount) Brickwell. In July 1938 she married Joe Wilcox.
Oma is survived by her children, Don (Sharon) Wilcox, Janet Wilcox, and Jane (David) Hahn; grandchildren, Cheri (Randy) Meyer, Amy Balli, Wade Wilcox (Debbie Millard), Lotti Wilcox (Eddie Zapata), and Ann Stafford (Robert Ketelboeter); great grandchildren, Randa Meyer (Spike Daeley), Serena Meyer (Patrick Farley), Bobby Stafford, Jessica Balli, and Joshua Balli. Oma is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Wilcox, and youngest son, David J Wilcox. Oma was the sole survivor of all her siblings, in law’s, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Oma was a CNA for many years, her last job was at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wisconsin before retiring in 1985. Oma had a great love for God & all of Gods creations especially flowers and her very favorite, tomatoes. She was always the first one to get the first ripe tomato from the garden. She also passed on her love of nature to her grandchildren. Oma was a very kind and nurturing person. Oma was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
The family wishes to thank DR. K, and also her long time and very loving & caring PA, Kate Collins of Baraboo Dean Clinic who over the years has taken phenomenal care of Oma; also St. Clare Meadows Care Center for their compassionate and loving care of Oma for the short time she was there.
Per Oma’s wishes there will be no funeral services. A graveside Memorial service is planned at a later date.
