Olive C. Holmblad
Olive “Polly” C. Holmblad, 91, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Sun Prairie Health Care Center.
Polly was born in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Jane Cotta. Polly completed two years of schooling and became a registered nurse. She married Eric in 1948 and raised four children in Rockford.
After Eric retired they spent their life together at their lake home in Merrimac, WI. They enjoyed sharing their home with many friends and family over the years, with fishing, swimming and cookouts.
Survivors include, her daughters, Janice of Cottage Grove, Pamela Bakken of Middleton; Daughter in law, Tana Holmblad of Merrimac; grandchildren, Scott (Erin) of Lake Elmo, MN, Brian of Saratoga, WY, Charles and Jacob (Allie) Holmblad of Plainfield, IL, Salem (Christina) Barker of South Beloit, IL, Samual Barker of Madison, WI, Solomon (Lana) Barker of Rockford, IL; a sister, Raymona Jane (Peg) Cloninger of Palmer, AK,; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Polly completed nurses training and became a registered nurse, practicing her profession through the years. She was a kind person with a generous spirit and will be forever remembered and loved.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eric, sons David and Robert, a granddaughter Promise Barker and a sister Mary Elizabeth Storm.
The family would like to express our sincere thankfulness for the wonderful care Polly received during the years she lived at SPHCC. The staff was kind, warm and friendly.
A memorial gathering will be held on February 25, 2017 from 1-4 at the lake home. A light lunch will be provided.
