Officials release name of victim who died in rollover Beltline crash

A vehicle crash caused backups on the Beltline at Old Sauk Road

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the victim who died in a Saturday rollover crash on the Beltline.

According to a news release, Alex J. Abing, 27, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Following the crash, Madison firefighters extricated Abing from the rolled vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release.

Two other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday in the Saturday morning crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the Madison Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
