Officials look for ‘service animal’ dog that bit woman

Survey: Some women don’t feel safe using trails in Janesville

Public health officials are looking for information about a dog that bit a woman while jogging on Governor’s Island Tuesday.

The dog bit the woman around 12:20 p.m. while the woman was jogging through the park, officials said.

The dog is described as a black pit bull or similar breed, according to a release. The dog was not on a leash in the park, and was with a second smaller black dog.

The man with the dogs is described as white, in his 40s or 50s and was wearing a badge around his neck that identified the dogs as service animals.

Officials ask anyone with information on the incident to call 608-255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.
