Officials: Impaired driver struck multiple cars, arrested for 4th OWI
COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. — A 32-year-old man is facing his fourth impaired driving offense after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Wisconsin State Patrol said troopers responded to reports at 3:15 p.m. of a Jeep SUV headed north on Interstate 39-90 that had crashed into multiple vehicles on the Beltline.
State Patrol said the Jeep traveled onto I-94 east, where Dane County sheriff’s deputies and Cottage Grove police stopped the SUV near exit 244.
Officials said Perie J. Villani, of Sun Prairie, was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol on suspicion of fourth-offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence. He was taken into custody without incident.
The incident was still under investigation Wednesday, State Patrol said.
