Officials identify 19-year-old killed in McFarland car vs. house crash
MCFARLAND, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the 19-year-old who died after crashing into a McFarland home Tuesday night.
Officials said the incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on the 5400 block of Siggelkow Road following an attempted traffic stop.
The driver refused to stop while on Highway 51 and instead exited onto Siggelkow Road, according to authorities. Officials ended the chase and later found the vehicle had crashed into a house after accelerating past police.
Cam-Ron P. Poelinitz, of Fitchburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Four other people inside the car were all brought to a hospital. Six people were also inside the home during the crash but none were hurt, officials said.
A news release said the medical examiner’s office completed a forensic autopsy Friday, with preliminary results determining Poelinitz died of injuries suffered in the crash.
No other information is available, as additional testing is underway.
The state Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation and Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office continue to investigate the death.
