Man arrested in connection with crash
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Dane County officials have identified the man who died from injuries suffered in a crash early Tuesday morning.
Conor J. Dunleavy, 20, of Madison, was a passenger in a 2009 Volkswagen Beetle that was rear-ended on County Highway N, one-tenth of a mile north of Bailey Road in Sun Prairie.
Dunleavy died at a Madison hospital on Wednesday from injuries suffered in the crash.
Dane County sheriff’s deputies said Lawren E. Prisk, 43, of Madison, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Roadster and rear-ended the Volkswagen Beetle.
The driver of the Volkswagen Beetle, a 24-year-old Sun Prairie woman, was transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison with non-life-threatening injuries.
Prisk was taken to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff’s officials said alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors in the crash.
Detectives arrested Prisk on charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and causing injury while operating while intoxicated.
Prisk currently remains hospitalized, but he will be booked into the Dane County Jail upon his release, sheriff’s officials said.
