Officials ID drivers, 17-year-old killed in fatal Cottage Grove crash
COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is identifying the drivers involved in a fatal Cottage Grove crash.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said three cars were involved in the head-on collision just after 11 a.m. Sunday.
A Honda Pilot driven by 42-year-old Sor Yang, of Madison, and a Ford Focus driven by 23-year-old Douglas Griswold, of Hartland, were traveling westbound when both drivers lost control of their vehicles.
Yang’s car went through the median and crashed into a Toyota Highlander driven by 23-year-old Bryan Frieseke, of Shorewood.
Frieseke’s car also had a 17-year-old passenger, Megan Frieseke, also of Shorewood, who died in the crash.
State Rep. David Bowen sent a statement Monday saying Megan Frieseke was a student at Shorewood High School.
All of the drivers were taken to the hospital. Bryan Frieske and Yang have non-life-threatening injuries and Griswold was not injured.
The southwest region of the Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
