39-year-old suffers life-threatening injury
TOWNSHIP OF TRENTON, Wis. — A man died after a head-on collision Sunday night on a highway near the township of Trenton, officials said.
On Tuesday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Ryan Schultz, of Sun Prairie, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on Highway 151 north of Redwood Road.
The crash happened at 10:02 p.m. when a vehicle was headed northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 151, the report said.
A 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan collided head-on with a 2016 Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Grand Caravan, 39-year-old Eric Hagenbart, of Beaver Dam, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by Flight for Life to Aurora Hospital in Summit, officials said.
Authorities said the case is still under investigation, though alcohol and driving on the wrong side of the highway are suspected to have been factors in the crash.
