Officials ID 1 killed, 2 injured in head-on crash

One person was killed and two others were injured Tuesday afternoon in a head-on crash in Jefferson County, according to a release.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 3:05 p.m. reporting a car vs. pickup truck crash, officials said.

A Chevy Silverado was going east and a Chevy Impala was going west on Highway 16 when the Impala crossed the centerline and hit the Silverado head-on, investigators said. The Silverado stopped in the center of Highway 16 and the Silverado stopped on the eastbound shoulder.

The driver of the Impala, 75-year-old Alvin Wolter, of Oconomowoc, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. The front seat passenger of the Impala, 16-year-old Zayna Sallam, of Oconomowoc, and the driver of the Silverado, 35-year-old Adam Lindstrom, of Waukesha, were taken to Summit Aurora Hospital for minor injuries. The front seat passenger of the Silverado, 23-year-old Aaron Willems, of Lake Mills, was not transported.

The crash is still under investigation.
