Officials arrest missing man suspected of spraying deputy with pepper spray
SAUK PRAIRIE, Wis. — The man suspected of spraying an officer with pepper spray has been arrested after being spotted in the Sauk Prairie area, according to Sauk County offficials.
30-year-old Joshua Martin was listed as a missing person from Dane County. He was suspected of attacking a deputy with pepper spray during a traffic stop early Monday in Columbia County.
A Columbia County deputy reportedly stopped Martin for speeding.
Dash cam video from the Columbia County Sheriff’s office shows the deputy approaching a truck and then stumbling away. The truck drives away. The deputy began pursuing the truck but had to pull over because the pepper spray affected his vision.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office report said Martin’s family and friends believed he was possibly going through a mental health crisis and they were concerned about his welfare.
