Officer reports own squad car on fire

No one hurt in police station blaze

A Mount Horeb police officer called 911 early Saturday morning to report his own squad car was on fire.

Parked right outside the police station, the blaze started about 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Dane County dispatch said the officer removed his rifle from it, but he couldn’t get to the ammunition.

The blaze spread to the police station, causing some smoke damage.

Fortunately, everything was under control within an hour and no one was hurt.
