Stanley J. Schroeder, 75, of Cuba City, WI passed away in his lifelong home on Monday, December 18, 2017.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21st at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI with Father David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Church Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Thursday, December 21st from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Son of Peter & Anna Mae (Lang) Schroeder, he was born on May 22, 1942 in Platteville, WI. He attended St. Rose Grade School in Cuba City, WI and graduated in 1960 with the first graduating class from Wahlert High School in Dubuque, IA. After high school he worked as a custodial engineer at St. Rose Schools from 1962-1969 and in 1969 he was happy to be hired at UW-Platteville, where he worked for 30 years. In retirement, Stan loved to take long walks on St. Rose Road, where people would stop to chat with him and ask if he had a joke to tell them.
He married Anne T. Lenaghan on August 18, 1995 at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque, IA. He was a Green Bay Packers fan from his early years and rarely missed watching a game. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Stan is survived by his devoted wife, Anne; a sister-in-law, Mary (Randy) Burriss; a brother-in-law, Andrew (Kitty) Lenaghan; his cousin, Terry (Mary Ann) Randecker, whom he loved as a brother; cousins Clayton (Karen) Lang and Janice (Tom) Warne, along with many Schroeder cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Stanley J. Schroeder Memorial Fund has been established.
