Madison: Rosemary G. Ehl, age 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Mary's Care Center.
She was born November 7, 1926, the daughter of William M. and Edna (Ackermann) Ehl in Sauk City. Rosemary graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and in 1953 received a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the UW-Madison. She then began her 38 year teaching career teaching in Clinton, WI, Park Forest Ill, and retired in 1987 after teaching Chemistry at Monona Grove High School for 32 years.
Rosemary loved teaching and will be remembered for the impression she left on her students during her 38 year career. During her retirement she fulfilled her lifelong dream to visit Rome, Italy.
Rosemary was a dedicated member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, where she was a loyal member of the Liturgical Music Choir.
Rosemary is survived by her niece, Julie (Fred) Roelke, also 10 nieces and nephews, many members of her church family, co-workers, friends, and many students. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers; John Ehl, Sauk City, Frank (Barb) Ehl, Menomenee Falls, her sisters; Magdalen (Gus) Kacoyannakis, Horseheads, NY, and Margaret (Jack) Poettgen, Collinsville, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at ST. MARIA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, WI 53711. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Please share a memory at www.CressFuneralService.com.
