BROOKLYN-Robert Wayne "Bob" Hanson, age 75, of Brooklyn, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1942, in Stoughton, the son of Robert and Anna (Nelson) Hanson.
Bob graduated from Brooklyn High School and UW Platteville. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Bob married Renae Duerst on Dec. 27, 1965. As a life-long farmer, he also worked as a mail carrier and at other part-time jobs. Bob was a fan and shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed watching the Badgers and Brewers. Bob was a hard worker and could fix anything, even over the phone. He enjoyed country music, western movies and John Deere tractors, but mostly he loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially taking them fishing and attending their events.
Bob is survived by his mother, Anna; wife of 51 years, Renae; son, Todd Hanson; daughter, Terri (Mike) Carnell; four grandsons, Travis Carnell, Mason Carnell, Tyler Carnell and Antwaun Hanson; granddaughter, Karac Hanson; brother, Lowell (Patti) Hanson; brother-in-law, Ron (Bette) Duerst; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and parents-in-law, Delbert and Nellie Duerst.
Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 12 Noon on Thursday, May 11, 2017, with the Rev. Jeff Wild presiding, with military honors and a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
