Paul Leonard Hoffman 86, of Potosi, passed away on Saturday, January 21 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, Wisconsin surrounded by his family. He was born on November 11, 1936, in Happy Corners in Smelser Township; the son of Elmer and Mary (Scharff) Hoffman, the oldest of eight children. He married Donna Jean Mann on February 27, 1960 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville WI.Â
He went square dancing, was a 4-H Leader, and established snowmobile trails in Grant County. He was a farmer until 1990, then worked for 5-Star Stock Removal, UW-Platteville, Lands’ End, self-employed delivering newspapers and donuts, and working at Big K Farms in Georgetown, WI.
Paul is survived by his loving, devoted wife Donna; their children: Corinna (Gary) Wolfe, Corwin Hoffman, and Samuel (Tracy) Hoffman; grandchildren: Jennifer (Timothy) Amore, Adam (Kamara) Wolfe, Simon (Kaitlyn) Wolfe, Bret Hoffman, Kaleb (Angelica) Champion, Shelby (Maveric Schmitz) Hoffman, Ian Champion, Nicole (Justin) Coleman, Skyla (Jon Morehead) Champion, and Aaron Hoffman; and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; siblings: Richard, Brenda, and George (Kathy) Hoffman; brother-in-law Hubert Nohns; sisters-in-law Marion Hoffman and Clarice Smart; special friend Edna Hoffman; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jeanette Nohns, John, Raymond, and Arthur Hoffman. Â
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. with services to follow on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Melby Funeral Home, Platteville. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
