Michael Martin Murray, 70, of Fort Atkinson passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville.
Michael was born on July 28, 1947 in Fort Atkinson, son of the late Martin and Marion (Wilson) Murray. He married Mary Rodrizuez in Fort Atkinson on June 23, 1973.
Michael graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1965. He served our country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970 and was a Vietnam veteran.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking and enjoyed crafting gifts for his family. But most of all, he loved spending time and camping with his family. Michael always put others before himself.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary of Fort Atkinson; children, Tanya (Tim) Pawlowski of Fort Atkinson and Jeff Murray of Madison; grandchildren, Michael Lodl, Zack Cheek and McKinnley Murray; brother, William (Karen) Murray of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Harrington.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson followed by Military Honors. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UW Carbone Cancer Center or to Agrace Hospice.
