Lowell Huebing, age 93 of Reedsburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Our House in Reedsburg.
Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1400 8th Street, Reedsburg with Pastor Steven Neyhart officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Lowell was born January 15, 1924 in Madison, Wisconsin the son of Edmund and Bessie (Rose) Huebing. He attended grade school and high school in Reedsburg and graduated in June of 1942. He then attended Sauk Normal School followed by Milton College and UW Platteville, earning his life long wish to become a teacher. This career first took him to a one room school in Loganville, Wisconsin and later he moved to Menomonee Falls and lastly he taught in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He had served in the U.S. Army and was inducted in August of 1945 and honorably discharged in November of 1946, attaining the rank of Corporal and receiving the World War II Victory Medal. In May of 1993 Lowell married Florence (Heidmann) Laky in Tucson, Arizona.
Lowell also had a deep passion and love for singing and was a member of the Bel Cantos singing group in Milwaukee.
Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Florence and her son, Theodore (Nancy) Brenson of Baraboo, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merriwell.
