Louise Marie Rickert, age 101, of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018.
She was born at the family farm house on Jan. 8, 1917, in Ashford, the daughter of William and Rosalia (Engel) Jaeger. Louise graduated from the 8th grade and lived in Ashford until she was 21 years old. She then moved to Milwaukee and became a beautician. Louise married the love of her life, William Rickert and moved to Madison where she worked at Madison General Hospital as a hairdresser. In the 1970's, she and Bill went to dance groups. Later in life, Louise was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flowers, she especially loved roses. Louise was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church for 60 years, participating in the Women of St. Bernard and the prayer line. She also volunteered at the funeral lunches, festivals, bazaars and many more events.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Rosalie (Donald) Kiefer and Mary Ellen Rickert; grandchildren, Will (Krista) Kiefer and Rita Kiefer; great-grandchildren, Abigail Wilson, Mackenzie Kiefer and Noah Kiefer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
