Lorraine Elder, 87, of Richland Center died Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Our House Senior Living in Richland Center. She was born on April 26, 1935, the daughter of Tillmon and Buena (Frye) Fry. On April 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald Elder at the Willow Valley United Methodist Church. Lorraine and Donald farmed together. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, and baking, especially peanut butter cookies and Russian Tea Cookies. Lorraine collected dishes and hummingbirds.
Lorraine is survived by her son Douglas (Debra) Elder of Kendall, daughters: Barbara Chickering of Atlanta, GA, Kathy (Gordon) Niemeier of Janesville, Linda Sue (Danny) Cox of Elroy, Julie Ann aka “Punk” (Tom) Doudna of Sextonville; seven grandsons: Matthew Chickering, Richard (Ellen) Niemeier, Daniel (Liz) Neimeier, Jeremy (Heather) Elder, Justin (Danielle) Elder, David Cox, Grant (Brandi) Pauls; six granddaughters: Sarah Howlett, Megan (Josh) Moss, Brandi (Rick) Blooer, Jesse Sue (TJ) Lueneburg, Ashley (William) Toussaint, Skyla Jae (Brent) Wanless; many great-grandsons and great-granddaughters; brother Fred Fry of Ithaca; sisters: Marjorie Rabine of Reedsburg, Marylou Walsh of Mukwonago; special relative: Chrystal Tyo Centeno of Viola; nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws: James and Ouida Elder husband Donald, granddaughter Amanda Niemeier, son-in-law: James Chickering, brother Ernest Fry, sister-in-law Paula Fry, and brother-in-law Duane Rabine.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in the Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
