LeRoy E. Luetscher

LeRoy Edwin Luetscher, 92, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Maplewood of Sauk-Prairie Nursing Home, Sauk City WI. He was born July 12, 1925 to Irvin and Margaret (Accola) Luetscher in the Township of Sumpter, Sauk County, Wisconsin.

Le Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Neal and Melvin Luetscher; sister, Arlene (Ryland) Block; his former wife and mother of his children, Eileen (Sprecher) Luetscher; daughter, Allison.

He is survived by his brother Wilbur (Nyla) Luetscher; Arpy Williams; three children, Linda (Douglas) Blakeslee, Barry Luetscher, Deborah (Patrick) Anderson; four grandchildren, Tracy (Jeromy) Gruber, Joey (Mowbray) Lubasi, Jessica (Brad) Williams, Derek (Lena) Blakeslee; eight great-grandchildren, Landen and Tarren Gruber, Vincent and AnnaJo Lubasi, Finley and Paige Williams, Drew and Gavin Blakeslee; several nieces and nephews.

LeRoy was born and raised on the family dairy farm in what became the Badger Ordnance Works in Sauk County where he learned hard work leads to success. After graduating from Prairie du Sac High School he held several jobs including driving school bus and selling magazines. At age 23 LeRoy began his lifelong career in the dairy business at the Honey Creek Dairy in Witwen WI during which time he also attended “Short Course” at UW. Over the next 40 years LeRoy accepted challenges and achieved personal rewards by successfully managing several dairies throughout Wisconsin: Honey Creek Dairy in Witwen, Lake-to-Lake Dairies in Kiel and Denmark, Manawa Dairy, Wisconsin Dairies in Reedsburg and ending his successful career at Golden Guernsey Dairy in Waukesha. His accomplishments earned the respect of many in the dairy business.

After retirement, he relocated to Green Valley, AZ where he spent many satisfying years playing golf and enjoying his home in the warm Southwest. He ”enjoyed his life and it was an interesting one”. He is greatly loved by his family and will be dearly missed by all of us. His smile, unassuming nature and fairness will be remembered by all who knew and worked with him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 25, 2018 at Lake Wisconsin Country Club beginning at 4:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials of remembrance can be made to: Museum of Badger Army Ammunition or Sauk-Prairie Food Pantry
