WEATHER ALERT

Obituaries

John A. Linden

John A. Linden, age 53, died on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg after he courageously battled ALS for over ten years.

He was born on November 4, 1964 in Madison, the son of Cletus and Carol (Hill) Linden.

John spent his early school years in Sun Prairie and graduated from Verona Area High School in 1983. After high school he worked at Bailey’s Bus Service where his love of cars and all things mechanical evolved. His strong work ethic followed him throughout his career, from heating and cooling to delivering plumbing supplies for First Supply. Many days you could find him tinkering with his beloved Mustang or just cruising in his truck.  He became an instant friend to many and was always primed with a silly joke. We all loved him for his engaging sense of humor and goofy smile. His kind heart and willingness to lend a hand at the drop of a hat, was one of his greatest attributes. Obstacles in life never stopped John. Born a fighter, he would prove time and again he could overcome those hurdles and not once would it dampen his character.

He is survived by his Mother; his siblings Todd (Brook) Linden, Tracie Millage (Stenzel), Rachelle (Justin) Lemke, and Beth (Aaron) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles Elaine (Dave) Pokrandt, Rickie (Marlin) Harms, Peggy (Mark) Yanke, Mary (John) Pringle, John (Dorothy) Hill, Joan Hill and David Hill.

He was preceded in death by his Father; grandparents John (Leila) Linden and Ray (Doris) Hill, godparents Marion (Clifford) Van Natta; and other beloved aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Dr., Verona at 11:30 am. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 am until the time of service.

John’s family would like to sincerely thank Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls and Greenway Manor in Spring Green. A special appreciation to Agrace Hospice for their kind and loving care given to John and all their patients.

Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to Agrace Hospice, Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center and/or The ALS Association.
