James A. Kraemer, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 09, 2018 in Temple, Texas.
He was born on May 15, 1943, the son of the late Sylvester and Mary (Walsh) Kraemer. He was united in marriage to Eileen Curtis on September 5, 1966. Jim was employed by Madison Kipp Corporation for 43 years. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post #398. He enjoyed farming, hunting, exercise classes, spending his winters in Texas and he loved traveling with family and friends.
He is survived by two children, Damian (Sheila) Kraemer of Spring Green and Donna (Tom) Thering of Witwen; five sisters, Rosemary Plath of Hastings, Minn., Marcellyne Amann of Cudahay, Judy (John) Keenen of Darby, Mont., Delphine Koenig and Elsie Perkins, of Madison; four brothers, Cyril (Florence) of St. Paul, Minn., Wendell of Reedsburg, Marvin of Verona and Allen of Plain. 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Russell, Macenzie Kraemer, Tiffeny Russell, Kaela Kraemer and Tayler Kraemer; 4 great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Brayson, Nash and Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his son, Derrick, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Rita Adams and Agatha Rolstad; 4 brothers, Leon and Harold, Joseph, Adrian at birth; brothers-in-law, Alan Rolstad, Richard Amann, Merle Koenig, Donald Harwood and Ray Perkins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. LUKE’S PARISH, Plain, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, with Father John Silva officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City with Military Service, following the luncheon. Friends and family may call at Hooverson Funeral Homes in Sauk City from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, and again on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at St. Luke's Parish, Plain.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, donations may be made in his name to the Sauk City Library for The Young at Heart exercise classes, St. Jude’s or the American Legion Post #398.
