Glen W. McKinney, age 83, from Mt. Horeb, passed away peacefully at Heartland County Village in Black Earth.
He was born in Richland Center on Sept. 23, 1934 to the late Mason and Iona (Nevel) McKinney. Glen attended school in Richland Center and worked as a farmer in the area for a few years. He was united in marriage to Wilma Carley on Mar. 17, 1953.
Glen later started at Oscar Maier as a meat cutter and worked there for 13 years before continuing his career later with New Glarus Foods and Knables in the Belmont area. Glen enjoyed wood working, ceramics, making crafts, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he was very proud of.
Glen is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Mt. Horeb; children, Mary Atkins of Platteville, Greg McKinney of Blue Mounds, Roberta Wollman of Mineral Point, Randy (Hieke) McKinney of Hastings, Mn., Dawn (Andy) Hellenbrand of Loganville, Donald (Kellie) McKinney of Mt. Horeb, Rodney (Emma) McKinney of Mt. Horeb, Laurie (Charlie) Heins of Monroe; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Jorgenson; and his cat, Janey. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann McKinney and a son Bill McKinney.
As per Glen’s wishes a private family service will be held.
