Dianne Haug

DEFOREST – Dianne Haug, age 64, passed away, surrounded by her family, after a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.

Dianne was born on July 30, 1953 in Madison, WI to Peter and Margaret (Meffert) Maier.  She grew up with her ten brothers and sisters in Lodi, WI and graduated from Lodi High in 1971.  On August 13, 1973 she married the love of her life, Gene Haug at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lodi.  Dianne worked at EVCO Plastics for 26 years and most recently at American Girl for six years.

She was a talented artist with her many gifts including crocheting, stained glass, and knitting.  Dianne enjoyed bowling, cheering on the Packers, outdoor activities, and especially camping.  In addition she loved flower gardening, music, and spending time with her grandchildren.

We will miss her quick wit and brutal honesty which kept ALL of us on the straight and narrow.  Dianne was a loving wife, mother, sister, granny, daughter, aunt, friend and will be greatly missed.  You can shed tears because she’s gone or you can smile because she lived.

Dianne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gene; children, Heath (Christina) and Marn (Jestin) Stern; her precious grandchildren, Kaylynn and Maggie; siblings, Linus (Ruthann) Maier, Vernon (Ellen) Maier, Paul Maier, Judy (John) Kiselis, Roman (Linda) Maier, Daniel Maier, Marvin (Mary Lou) Maier, Donna (David) Lemke, Roger (Heidi) Maier, and Virgil “Petie” (Bonnie) Maier; and honorary son, Erik (Becky) Lemke.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life – Open House will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4-8PM at VFW POST 9362, 349 South Walker Avenue, Sun Prairie.

The family would like to thank the staff of UW Home Health and the many, many, many nurses and doctors at UW Hospital and Clinics.  Donations may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, UW Foundation, US Bank Lockbox 78807, Milwaukee, WI 53278-0807 or go to https://secure.supportuw.org/give
