MOUNT HOREB-Deborah K. Mueller, age 64, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a tenacious 15 year battle with cancer.
She was born June 18, 1953, the daughter of Herman and Joan (Voelkli) Hoesly. Deb graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School then attended college. In 1975, she was hired as the first dispatcher for the new dispatch center at the Middleton Police Department. It was there she met her husband Donald Mueller. They were married on May 21, 1977.
Deborah’s family was her number one priority. She was a loving, kind and generous person, as evidenced by her long career in public service. She spent the majority of her working years with Dane County Sheriff’s Department, Department of Emergency Management and Badger Prairie Health Care Center. Deb was an avid sports fan, especially her beloved UW Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Through the years she held season tickets to UW Football, Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Hockey and Volleyball. She was so happy when, in 2015, she was feted as Badger Football Season Ticket Holder of the game.
Deb passed on her love of sports to her sons. Of course, she was their biggest fan when they played sports and more recently with her grandson. She never missed a game.
Deb is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald; sons Fritz (Michelle) of Pembina, ND and Dax (Samantha) of Edgerton; her brother Kim Hoesly of Maitland, Florida; grandchildren Athena and Dietrich Mueller and Ethan Meyering. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Rick.
In keeping with her love of animals, memorials may be made to Angel’s Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center in Verona or to the Dane County Humane Society.
A Celebration of her life will be held in June 2018 at the start of her favorite season.
