Craig Casey, age 71 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2018 at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Fields at the Wilderness, 511 East Adams Street, Lake Delton, Wisconsin.
Craig was born April 2, 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana the son of Robert and Marceil (Colby) Casey. He grew up in White Plains, New York and moved to the Dells area in 1960 where he graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School and later attended and graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin.
While in college he was also a member of the Army R.O.T.C. and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the infantry division.
In June of 1969 he married Sandra Thompson in Wisconsin Dells and from 1975 to 2013 they operated Thompson Floral in Wisconsin Dells and from 1985 to 1989 he also owned and operated Terra Landscape.
As if he didn’t have enough to do, Craig found time to stay busy with politics as well. From 1987 to 1993 he served as a City Alderman, served as Mayor from 1993 to 2001 and again from 2005 to 2007, and was the municipal judge from 2009 to 2011.
Craig and his wife did manage to see other parts of the world too; visiting all 50 United States, Japan, South America, Norway, most all of Europe and many Caribbean Islands. One of his favorite hobbies was riding motorcycle and he did visit Sturgis, South Dakota twice.
Craig is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Adam Patrick; mother, Marceil; a brother, Tim (Mary Jo) of Wrighstown, Wisconsin; and sisters, Maureen Heitman of Middleton, Wisconsin and Barbara (Stephen Kennedy) Casey of Chicago, Illinois.
