He was united in marriage to Katherine “Katie” Morris on March 7, 1970 at the United Methodist Church, Platteville. As a young man Carl worked for Bob and Shirley Raisbeck, where he showed registered Shorthorn cattle. He then worked construction where he helped build the Karrmann Library at UW-Platteville, and also working for Joe Lawinger Construction. One day while working for Lawinger’s, George Wilson talked to Carl about an opening with the city of Platteville Water Department, where Carl applied and got hired. He worked then for the City of Platteville in the water department from 1972 until his retirement in 2010. Carl was an active volunteer for Badger Camp for 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, catfish fishing, hunting rabbits, deer and morel’s. He always enjoyed making his famous horse radish, a good conversation and humor. He loved raising his shelties and beagles over the years.
Carl is survived by his wife, Katherine “Katie” of Platteville; two sons, David Hall of Dodgeville; Dennis (Jennie) Hall of Potosi; five grandchildren, Cody, Parker, Brandon, Hunter and Tate; nieces, and nephews, special friends, Mark and Connie Moody and Kevin “Beetle” Bailey.
