HOLLANDALE, Wis. - Myron L. Burkeland, age 88, of Hollandale passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home.
He was born on January 15, 1930 in Waldwick, Wisconsin, a son of the late Ellard and Millie (Pederson) Burkeland. He served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer during the Korean War. On July 1, 1950, he married Charlene Severson at Adams Church in Argyle, Wisconsin.
Myron owned and operated a mechanic shop and then worked for Crandall Oil Co. for 10 years and farmed his entire life. He loved watching birds, bowling and spending time with his family.
Myron is survived by his wife of 67 years Charlene; his children Gary (Donna) Burkeland of New Glarus, Carol (Darrell) Carpenter of Monticello, Dennis (Angela) Burkeland of Browntown and Dale (Janet) Burkeland of Hollandale; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Steven in infancy and his grandson Craig Burkeland.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Nicole Espe will officiate. Private family inurnment will be held in Fayette Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
