Barbara M. Prouty, 75, of Portland, Oregon, passed away December 26, 2017 at her nursing care facility due to complications from Alzheimer’s Dementia.
She was born on June 6, 1942, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Helena and Marvin Mundt. She was the third of four daughters.
She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1960 followed by the Cook County School of Nursing and then practiced nursing and participated in competitive skydiving until the birth of her daughter, Tracy. She was an operating room nurse in Florida, North Dakota, and Wisconsin (Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse) until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Prouty of Portland, OR; sister and brother-in-law, Susan (Mundt) and Charlie Danielson of Fort Atkinson, WI; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene (Mundt) and Steve Leslie of Peshtigo, WI, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Lorraine (Mundt) Brickner.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson with Nancy Breitsprecher officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. at the memorial home until time of service.
