Supporting Senior Wellness
Oak Park Place staff are dedicated to making sure their senior residents are thriving — physically, mentally and emotionally — and that focus on wellness and staying active has led to back-to-back Best of Madison wins.
The Oak Park Place family of senior living communities includes locations in Madison, Janesville and Baraboo, along with other locations across Wisconsin, plus Iowa and Minnesota. All communities offer memory care and assisted living; some also offer independent living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation programs. The full continuum of care allows residents to transition within the community they already know and love should their needs change.
One thing seniors and their families enjoy most about Oak Park Place is the abundance of activities, carefully planned by full-time staff to meet residents where they are. Exciting opportunities for independent living residents include shopping trips, card games, happy hours, bingo and fitness classes. Activities for memory care residents celebrate daily successes, like painting, baking groups and gardening. The Memory Keepers support group provides comfort and coping strategies for caregivers.
Rob Breidenbach, Regional Wellness Director of Oak Park Place, says structure and sense of purpose are vital to continued health as we age. “We focus on the seven dimensions of wellness for our residents,” he explains. “We aim to offer high-quality programs and improve our resident’s physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environment and occupational well-being.” Activities are thoughtfully designed to have impact and meaning. Resident artwork, for example, is displayed in galleries throughout the community.
Residents also enjoy social hours, spiritual groups and personal care services, such as massages and an on-site hair salon. oakparkplace.com
