Nursing home worker accused of using patient’s debit card
Complaint: Video shows woman using card
FITCHBURG, Wis. — A Fitchburg nursing home worker is accused of using a patient’s debit card.
A criminal complaint states Rebecca R. Cutsforth, 32, of Madison, used the card of a patient at the Waterford in Fitchburg four times in early June to buy gas, cigarettes and withdraw cash. A total of $286 was spent.
The victim’s daughter contacted police when she noticed money missing from her mother’s account. The woman told police she knew her mother could not have used her debit card because she’s confined to a wheelchair and has been ruled incompetent.
Police said Cutsforth can be seen using the debit card in gas station surveillance using the woman’s card.
Cutsforth is charged with theft and four counts of identity theft of an elderly of disabled person.
